Indonesian mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja admitted that they did not succeed in executing their strategy well on the field so they had to settle for being runners up at the 2024 Korea Masters.
Dejan/Gloria lost to Chinese pair Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui 10-21, 12-21 in the final match which was held at Iksan Gymnasium, Sunday.
The mixed doubles admitted that they had difficulty executing the game strategy that had been determined when on the field. Dejan admitted that his game was rushed which actually caused many mistakes.

“We were too hasty, when we were under pressure we tried various methods but we made a lot of our own mistakes. This is what made us unable to develop. In the end the game plan was not what we expected,” said Dejan in a written statement.
“We admit we were not optimal today,” he continued.
In terms of the tempo of the game, Gloria assessed that this mixed doubles final match was different compared to the first round, which was what the Indonesian pair wanted. However, once again, the implementation of the strategy was not smooth which became an obstacle in the final match.

**Interview with Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja After the Korea Masters Final**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Dejan and Gloria. You both had a tough match in the final against the Chinese duo Guo Xin Wa and Chen Fang Hui. Can you share what happened out on the court?
**Dejan:** Thank you for having us. It was definitely a challenging match for us. We had a game plan going in, but once we were on the court, we struggled to execute it effectively.
**Gloria:** Yes, we had specific strategies to follow, but we couldn’t adapt under pressure. I think we both felt rushed, which led to a lot of mistakes on our part.
**Editor:** Dejan, you mentioned feeling rushed during the game. How did that affect your performance specifically?
**Dejan:** I felt that I wasn’t able to focus on the plays we practiced. I was trying to make quick decisions, and that just led to poor shot selection and unforced errors. I need to work on staying calm in those critical moments.
**Editor:** Understandably, that can be very difficult in such high-stakes situations. Gloria, what do you think were the key factors that contributed to your loss?
**Gloria:** I think our opponents played exceptionally well, but our inability to stay composed was key. We also found it hard to counter their aggressive tactics. They forced us into making mistakes rather than letting us play our game.
**Editor:** Moving forward, what will you take from this experience into your next competition?
**Dejan:** We’ll definitely analyze what went wrong in this match and focus on improving our mental game. Staying calm under pressure will be crucial for our future tournaments.
**Gloria:** Absolutely. We also need to trust our training more and not rush our plays. We’ll come back stronger, that’s for sure.
**Editor:** Thank you both for sharing your thoughts. Best of luck in your training and upcoming competitions!
**Dejan and Gloria:** Thank you!
