Jakarta: Indonesian mixed doubles badminton players, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, managed to beat the host’s representatives, Zhang Han Yu/Yang Jia Yi, in the first round of the 2024 China Masters, Wednesday 20 November. The creation of this victory cannot be separated from the motivation of those who want to recover from failure at the 2024 Kumamoto Masters event.
As is known, Dejan/Gloria immediately fell in the first round when participating in the Kumamoto Masters 2024 event, which is classified as a BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament, last week. At that time, Dejan/Gloria lost with a score of 19-21, 18-21 in 42 minutes to Japan’s representatives, Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito.

Next, in the second round of the 2024 China Masters, Thursday 21 November, Dejan/Gloria, who are the sixth seeds, will face Danish representatives Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund. Previously, Toft/Magelund successfully passed the first round after defeating Taiwanese mixed doubles, Wu Hsuan-Yi/Yang Chu Yun.
