Deficit of 1.6 billion euros in the Greek-Russian trade balance in the seven months

The trade balance between Greece and Russia remained negative (by 201.5 million euros) in July as well, as the value of the country’s exports to Russia amounted to only 9.0 million euros, marking a decrease of 6.7% compared to July 2022 which was 9.6 million euros.

On the contrary, the value of Greece’s imports from Russia amounted to 210.5 million euros, a decrease of 79.9% compared to July 2022 which was 1,047.6 million euros.

According to the Greek Statistical Authority, in the seventh month of the year, the value of Greece’s imports from Russia amounted to 1,699.1 million euros, marking a decrease of 62.4% compared to the period January-July 2022 which was 4,520.4 million euros.

The value of Greece’s exports to Russia in the period January-July 2023 amounted to 59.2 million eurosmarking a decrease of 15.3% compared to the period January-July 2022 which was 69.8 million euros.

The trade balance between Greece and Russia in the period January-July 2023 was negative and amounted to 1,640.0 million euros (deficit).

In 2022, 397 Greek companies imported from Russia and 404 Greek companies exported to Russia.

OR total value of Greece’s imports from Russia in the year 2022 it amounted to 9,334.1 million euros, recording an increase of 117.0% in relation to the corresponding total value for the year 2021 which was 4,302.4 million euros.

The total value of Greece’s exports to Russia in the year 2022 amounted to 156.4 million euros, registering a decrease of 24.3% compared to the corresponding total value for the year 2021 which was 206.6 million euros.

The trade balance of Greece with Russia in the year 2022 was negative and amounted to 9,177.7 million euros (deficit).

With Ukraine

In July 2023 the value of Greece’s imports from Ukraine amounted to 22.4 million euros, marking an increase of 175.2% compared to July 2022 which was 8.1 million euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine in July 2023 amounted to 70.3 million euros, an increase of 29.9% compared to July 2022 which was 54.1 million euros. The Greece-Ukraine trade balance in July 2023 was positive and amounted to 48.0 million euros (surplus).

In the period January-July 2023, the value of Greece’s imports from Ukraine amounted to 156.3 million euros, marking an increase of 89.2% in relation to the period January-July 2022 which was 82.6 million euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine in the period January-July 2023 amounted to 377.7 million euros, marking an increase of 104.9% compared to the period January-July 2022 which was 184.3 million euros.

The trade balance between Greece and Ukraine in the period January-July 2023 was positive and amounted to 221.4 million euros (surplus).
