BANGUI, Central African Republic, October 29, 2024 /African Media Agency (AMA)/- The Bambari Defense and Security Forces have been trained in the sanctions procedures planned against them. This workshop, held on October 24, 2024 under the chairmanship of the Minister of National Defense and in the presence of the President of the Defense and Security Commission of the National Assembly, was organized with the support of MINUSCA.
According to the Minister of National Defense and Army Reconstruction, Rameaux Claude Bireau, the Central African state has lost a lot of money in recent years due to several administrative appeals linked to non-compliance with the regulatory procedure for sanctions. within the army. This observation motivated the organization of a series of awareness sessions in the country’s defense zones.
Several concepts were discussed during the workshop, including discipline as a pillar of the army’s strength, the offenses provided for by the code of military justice as well as the various applicable sanctions. Participants were also made aware of the duties and responsibilities of the military, and received instructions on the establishment of a disciplinary council.
Chief Warrant Officer Mbaidi Aimé César, one of the participants, said that this workshop allowed him to strengthen his knowledge of the discipline : “Today, I know what I must do and what I must not do to avoid being sanctioned by this regulatory procedure”.
Participants came from all branches of the Defense and Security Forces: the army, the police, customs, the prison administration, the water and forestry units, the municipal police as well as the gendarmerie.
Similar workshops have already been held in Bangui, Bouar, Bangassou and Berberati. Kaga-Bandoro and Ndele are on the program for 2025, again with the support of MINUSCA.
The Minister thanked MINUSCA for its support in the organization of these text popularization workshops, aimed at preventing future dysfunctions.
