Defender requested specialized medical care for the community of Loma Grande

The Ombudsman, Carlos Camargo, made a call to the municipal mayor’s office to carry out specialized health sessions to attend to the possible effects that members of the community might have, particularly pediatricians for the care of children, pulmonologists, internists, psychologists, social workers and dermatologists, among other specialists.

“We will continue to build bridges to protect the right to health and a healthy environment that the communities surrounding the landfill have. We are not going to leave them alone, we are going to continue accompanying them to achieve the guarantee of their rights.”, pointed out the Ombudsman.

It is important to remember that the Ombudsman’s Office presented, before the Administrative Court of Córdoba, an adjunct within the popular action instituted by the community of the Jaraguay Indigenous Town Hall, once morest the operating company of the Loma Grande Landfill and the El Purgatorio Boathouse in Monteria.

“From our Córdoba Region and our Delegate for Collective Rights and the Environment we have been accompanying to the claims of the inhabitants, expressing before the CVS and other authorities different concerns regarding the operation and control of the landfill”assured the Ombudsman.
