TEAM Indonesia managed to win the 2024 Suhandinata Cup after beating China in the final. In the Nanchang International Sports final, Saturday (5/10), the Indonesian team won 110-103 over China.
The Red-White squad brought home the trophy after waiting five years and this is the second title for Indonesia since 2019.
This achievement also marks the Indonesian junior team to enter the top match of the Suhandinata Cup back-to-back, and this time with a new scoring system, namely relay point.

The team captain, Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, became Indonesia’s first mainstay in the women’s singles event. However, Mutiara lost to Xu Wen Jing with a score of 7-11.
The situation immediately changed after the women’s doubles Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine won over Chen Fan Shu Tian/Liu Jia Yue with a lead for Indonesia 22-15.
In the third match in mixed doubles, Darren Aurelius/Bernadine Anindya W also wrapped up a win over Lin Xiang Yi/Liu Yuan Yuan and brought Indonesia to a narrow win 33-31.

The match was again tight with Indonesia’s first men’s singles, Moh Zaki Ubaidillah giving the team a temporary lead of 44-40 after he beat Hu Zhe An.
The fifth match was continued by the men’s doubles Anselmus Breagit FP/Pulung Ramadhan who widened Indonesia’s lead to 55-48 after winning over Hu Ke Yuan/Lin Xiang Yi.
The same line-up of players returned in the second half of the final and Mutiara and her team became more compact and solid to take home the 2024 Suhandinata Cup with a final score of 110-103. (Ant/S-1)
