Shajan Skariya, editor of Marunadan Malayali, has been summoned by the Lucknow court for making false allegations once morest Malayali businessman Yousafali and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s son Vivek Doval. Apart from Shajan Scaria, the court also sent summons to Marunadan Malayali’s CEO Anne Marie George and group editor Riju. All three have to appear in court on June 1

The action is in a defamation case filed by Rajit Radha Krishnan, director of Lulu Mall in Lucknow. Senior Supreme Court advocate Mukul Joshi appeared for the plaintiff. The basis of the case is that Shajan Skaria made false allegations once morest Yousafali and Vivek Doval in a video broadcast on Marunadan Malayali’s YouTube. The Lucknow court issued a summons stating that the allegations in this video are prima facie defamatory and untrue.

In the video, Shajan Scaria alleged that Rs 8300 crore black money reached the account of Vivek Doval’s company GNY Asia Hedge Fund following demonetisation. In this, he also informed Mohammad Altaf, International Director of Lulu Group, who is close to Yousafali, to share. The Lulu Group has filed a defamation case in a Lucknow court, alleging that the company’s image has been affected by the widespread circulation of the untrue and falsely alleging video.
