This news was greeted with some relief by the sixty or so protesters present at the rally.

Me Goldwater, who will also take part in the virtual meeting, hopes to see the mayoress of Longueuil change her mind.

“There are other options available that will cost taxpayers nothing, instead of throwing $ 325,000 in the trash,” proclaimed the lawyer, in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

“If we murder the 65 deer this year, we will have to repeat the exercise year following year, because the herd will continue to grow in size and we will end up converting this park into a slaughterhouse,” she added.

In addition, Catherine Fournier told TVA Nouvelles that there was, for the moment, no date set for the slaughter of deer, but that it should take place, at the latest, at the end of February. .
