“I’m really disgusted. I was deeply shocked when I discovered the images”. These are the words that former Miss Belgium Celine Van Ouytsel spoke to the VRT microphone following being the victim of “deepnude”.
This technique comes straight from artificial intelligence which places a naked body under a person’s face in a very realistic way. This therefore makes us believe in a real cliché presenting the personality completely naked. And the one who was crowned in 2020 was the victim on the internet, just like other personalities in Flanders.
”I knew this sometimes happened with very famous Hollywood stars, but I never thought it might happen to me one day. So it can happen to anyone,” she continues to our colleagues. “I know what the original photos look like, so I saw right away that they were fake. However, these images seemed very realistic. […] I know some people can’t tell right from wrong in all of this. […] It’s incredible.”
The story will obviously not stop there since Celine Van Ouytsel will file a complaint. “I contacted my lawyer. […] These are serious offenses. People don’t think regarding the impact this can have on a victim’s life. […] I can’t imagine the impact this can have on underage girls who are victims of this type of intimidation.”
