Decortiles – Stone effect

Man’s connection with natural stones is ancient and began with the ancient Egyptian and Greek civilizations, which pioneered their use in building pyramids and temples.

Later, Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo mastered the art of carving masterpieces from natural stones such as marble. From then on, the use of the material was introduced into architecture, gaining evidence on building facades and indoor environments.

Throughout its history, the material is known for its durability, resistance, grandeur, naturalness and sophistication. Despite all its elegance, it creates a contrast between the simple essence, which connects us to its origins in nature, and the noble impact, perceived in its textures and veins.

When combined with elements such as water, fire and plants, in internal and external spaces, the “stone effect” gains even more power and causes inexhaustible feelings of relaxation.

Effects and sensations

Composed of minerals, the stones have an electromagnetic force, which allows them to balance and harmonize the energy of other bodies. This important characteristic releases a feeling of well-being in the spaces decorated by them. The relaxing aesthetic also resonates in other materials used today, such as porcelain tiles, which can be found in classic, neoclassical, contemporary and even minimalist environments.

The “stone effect” trend has remained and has passed through generations, and is currently considered a timeless and almost “indispensable” element in decoration. They have evolved so much that in addition to raw stones, other materials have recreated their effects, bringing even more versatility and possibilities to projects.

In the incessant search for more contact with nature, coverings that present these aspects are favorites when dressing surfaces and walls.

Aware of this search for elements that materialize the flow of relaxing sensations in environments, we have prepared a “wishlist” of four Decortiles pieces, with the latest releases from 2023.

Magma Camel: A piece with great visual impact, which brings with it the strength of nature. The fusion between stone and solidified lava creates a powerful aesthetic with rich, decorative colors and textures.

Orla Agave: A refreshing possibility for “life outside”, inspired by the different colors of Brazilian beaches. The coating is recommended for external and wet areas. It can even coat swimming pools, bringing color and freshness.

Maui Storm: The coating is an alternative that brings the colors of nature closer to the environments. With subtle veins and shades of gray and blue, it brings the essence of river stones, and is welcome in outdoor, commercial, high-traffic environments, wet areas, and swimming pools.
