However, beer remains the most alcoholic beverage across the country, accounting for nearly 35% of sales of alcoholic products in 2020-2021.

Beer sales totaled $9.1 billion last fiscal year.

According to Statistics Canada, sales of ciders and coolers increased in every province and territory.

Some $2.1 billion was spent on this type of alcohol in 2021-2022, an increase of 13.5% compared to 2020-2021.
