The saga of the declaration of real estate is not yet finished. This new reporting obligation imposed on individuals and large landlords (social landlords, etc.) since this year, through a 100% dematerialized procedure, has turned into a nightmare for users and tax officials. Result: the deadline had to be postponed by one month, to this Monday, July 31. Three days before the deadline, a third of declarations were still missing on Friday, according to union sources.
Asked by “Les Echos”, the Directorate General of Public Finance (DGFIP) did not wish to communicate on the percentage of response obtained. “There will be benevolence”, especially insists the tax administration. “What will be validated or modified on the ‘Manage my real estate’ spaces beyond July 31 will be taken into account”, she continues. “As for large accounts, we receive the files and their integration will continue in August”.
