New Delhi: The crucial meeting of the party began at the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The meeting will decide whether to accept the proposals put forward by election strategist Prashant Kishore to revive the Congress for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Congress leaders had been holding marathon talks with Prashant Kishore for the past few days. After examining the proposals put forward by Prashant Kishore, the leaders submitted a report to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Following this, the party convened a crucial meeting to take a final decision.
Members of the seven-member committee that submitted the report to Sonia also attended today’s meeting. KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Ambika Soni, Jairam Ramesh, Digvijaya Singh and Randeep Singh Surjewala were members of the committee headed by P Chidambaram.
AICC General Secretary Prinka Gandhi and senior leader AK Antony are also attending the meeting.
The Congress leaders discussed with Prashant Kishore key issues such as resolving the leadership crisis, recovering the party’s founding principles, resolving alliance issues, organizational disintegration from the grassroots and utilizing the media and digital sector for the party’s campaign.
During the Congress talks, Prashant Kishore visited Telangana and met Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao. I-PAC, Prashant Kishore’s consultancy, has decided to take over the campaign strategies of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for the 2023 Telangana elections. Earlier, Prashant Kishore had devised election strategies for Chandrasekhara Rao.
