“Debunking the vaccine-heart attack myth: What science says”

2023-05-21 15:09:22

It has not been scientifically proven that vaccines are the main or direct cause of heart attacks, but with the rise in the number of sudden deaths, especially among young people, many questions have been raised about the link between the Covid -19 and vaccines against the disease.

No scientific evidence linking vaccinations to heart attacks in young people

In this context, Dr Islam, an expert in cardiovascular diseases, told the media on Saturday evening Al-Arabiya that Covid-19 has taught us that the bacteria can cause increased clotting rates in the body and lead to heart attacks or cause pulmonary embolism in infected people.

As for vaccines, the doctor asserted that the discourse on the negative effects of vaccines and the possibility that they cause clotting of all kinds, is weak from a scientific point of view. According to him, “people who have had heart or lung disease after vaccines are part of a group of people who have a physical tendency for these types of events to occur.”

Asked by i24NEWS, Professor Cyrille Cohen, director of the immunotherapy laboratory at Bar Ilan University, indicates that in general, Israel had noted almost 2 years ago that there was a risk of myocarditis in young men of 16 to 25 years in the weeks following vaccination. “The overwhelming majority of cases did not require special care, but it was important to follow these populations. The various drug agencies (FDA, EmA, etc.) had mentioned this risk. Since then, the different variants of Covid-19 have decreased in intensity and severity, and today, vaccination is indicated mainly for people at risk,” he said.

In addition, a recent American study, published two months ago, demonstrated that vaccination is associated with a drop in heart attacks in Covid-19 patients. Also, the frequency of myocarditis observed in young people is around 1 in 10,000 according to several studies.
