New Delhi: The BJP’s lie that the scepter was a sign of the transfer of power from the British to the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru has been debunked.

When the scepter was handed over to Nehru on the eve of Independence Day, British Viceroy Mountbatten C. Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said this while pointing out that the head monk of Thiruvaduthurai temple had stated in an interview that there was no Rajagopalachari.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed the scepter in the new Parliament building amid accusations of neglect by the Congress. The scepter was formerly Mount Battano c. It was not given to Rajagopalachari – Jairam Ramesh said.
