A heated debate once once more with the column of the journalist and editorial director of the Rfm: the question of press freedom. After the critical intervention of the head of state which provoked Babacar Fall’s response, it was the minister spokesperson for the government, Abdou Karim Fofana who added a layer.

“In Senegal, we have 22 independent private Ms television channels, 25 general radio channels, 200 community radios and 200 websites and more than 49 daily newspapers. And now, people dare to make us believe that there is no freedom of the press in Senegal…” protested the Minister of Commerce who took part in the “Sargal” ceremony to the Head of State organized by the director of SEMIG SA, Fatoumata Niang Bâ, in Grand Yoff.

Abdou Karim Fofana will do no less regarding the dimension of democracy during the Macky Sall era. According to the political leader of the BBY coalition in Dakar, “it is because freedom and democracy are very present in Senegal that everyone takes responsibility for saying whatever they want. Our country is a strong example of democracy,” he insists.
