The disappearance of Véronique Trillet-Lenoir is that of a woman of values and convictions, who dedicated her career and her multiple commitments to public health, especially to the fight once morest cancer.
A professor of oncology, she combined teaching, research and practice at the public hospital, while directing the Lyon-Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes cancéropôle from 2013 to 2020, where experiments and ambitious work were carried out under her aegis, making advance research once morest cancer in all its dimensions, biological and medical, but also societal and environmental.
His open-mindedness and energy did not stop at the borders of medicine or France. Politics was for her an additional vector of her commitments. Its long-standing international involvement and its investment in the construction of a true “Europe of health” thus led it to Brussels. MEP, we owe her the development of the first European strategy for the fight once morest cancer, which materializes her vision of a decompartmentalized and preventive health policy, made up of exchanges and collaborations between the different national structures.
Véronique Trillet-Lenoir’s fight to overcome the disease was also a personal battle, which she faced with courage.
The Minister of Health and Prevention, Aurélien Rousseau, pays tribute to the memory of a woman who devoted her life to the fight once morest cancer, both medically and politically, driven by the idea of progress and guided by the strength of his convictions. He sends his saddened condolences to his family, loved ones and to all those who shared his struggles.
