Death of James Caan: Al Pacino, Sharon Stone… the Hollywood tribute

A Hollywood giant has passed away and Hollywood wanted to pay tribute to him as it should. James Caan, known for his illustrious career on the big as the small screen and especially for his role of Sunny Corleone in “The Godfather”, did indeed leave us yesterday at the age of 82 and tributes have been raining since the announcement of his disappearance.

Farewell messages include other Hollywood giants such as Al Pacino, Sharon Stone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many more.

In a statement shared with People magazine, Al Pacino said, “Jimmy was my fictional brother and lifelong friend. I find it hard to believe he will be gone, because he was so alive and so daring. He was a great actor, an outstanding director, and my very dear friend. I will miss him.”

Sharon Stone wrote on Twitter: “My second job as an actress was with James Caan. We had so much fun. From then on he always supported me. Jimmy, I cherish every second [passée avec toi]. May God protect you.”

Also on Twitter, Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote: “James Caan was an icon, a legend. He inspired everyone who ever found himself in front of a camera. I had the chance to work with him, to witness for his talent and fantastic sense of humour.”

‘Godfather’ director Francis Ford Coppola said: “Jimmy is someone who has been with me throughout my life, longer and closer than any other movie star I’ve ever had. known. (…) He will always be my old friend from Sunnyside, my collaborator, and one of the funniest people I’ve met.”
