Her name is Gabriela González and she is the mother of little Isabella, who survived to punctures in the Maternal Neonatal Hospital. She was born in the early morning of April 26, 2022 following an uncomplicated pregnancy.
Two months later, they called the mother to testify. She was the only one who identified to the nurse Brenda Agüeroeven before it was arrested.
This Monday, the woman decided to give her testimony on television, in the Arriba Córdoba program on ElDoce.tv. Her testimony was key in the nurse’s arrest.
Gabriela recounted that that morning she arrived at the Bialet Massé hospital, where she is from, with a cracked bag: “I had a normal pregnancy, I never had a complication.”
But since there was no place for her to give birth, she was referred to the Neonatal Maternal Hospital from the city of Cordoba. At 6:30 a.m. Isabella was born by natural childbirth. “When they bring her to me, I attach her to her chest and up to that point, everything is normal,” the woman said.
When they took her to the recovery room, she explained that two nurses appeared: one who told her that it was time for tea and the other was Brenda Agüero. “I know it’s her,” she stated. But she until that moment she didn’t know her name. She remembered that she was wearing her both but under her short sleeve was a long sleeve.
“Brenda asked Isabella that she was wrapped in a blanket and she makes a movement as if to turn around and there she screams. A cry as if something had been done to him. And the other nurse tells her: ‘Oh, it’s with you. She give it to me,’” González described, adding: “She had her for a while and she calmed down.” According to him, she explained, “Brenda, she got a little nervous, weird.”
Immediately followingwards, Gabriela recounted that the nurse accused of the death of five babies asked her if she was going to give her more breasts: “I said yes and then she says: ‘Give it to me, I’ll check her diaper'”. “When she tells me to change her, check her diaper, he doesn’t put her on a bed and take out the frog, he puts his hand on top of it. For me there she did that to him, ”she expressed when referring to her puncture.
“He goes back a little where he had all his things and he screams once more. And she tells me ‘take, take, give her the breast,’ ”said the mother. And minutes later, according to her testimony, Brenda Agüero returned with a doctor and they told her that they were going to take the baby for control: “She came back a few minutes and said that she was going to be admitted to the ICU because she had a bruise on her leg that it burst.”
