Saturday followingnoon, around 3 p.m., a tragic road accident occurred in Olne. According to our information, a car would have hit a road sign at the intersection of the streets Bouteille and Perî. Behind it was unfortunately a grandmother with her grandson, a few months old, in a stroller. They were both hit by the car, before it rolled over and ended up in the facade of the house at the intersection of rue de la Péri and rue du Château d’eau.
Two ambulances from Battice and Pepinster were dispatched to the scene for an adult and a baby in a pram, confirms the commander of the Vesdre-Hoëgne & Plateau rescue zone, Quentin Grégoire.
The child, from a family in Xhendelesse, is said to have died and his grandmother was seriously injured.
