Death of a biker in an accident in Leeuw-Saint-Pierre

In Leeuw-Saint-Pierre (municipality on the outskirts of Brussels, in Flemish Brabant), a motorcyclist died in a road accident this Saturday afternoon. The information was reported by several media, and confirmed by the local police in the Zennevallei region (Hal/Beersel/Leeuw-Saint-Pierre).

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Pepingsesteenweg. A biker who was driving towards the center of Leeuw-Saint-Pierre lost control of his vehicle for reasons that remain unclear. He first hit a wooden post between the road and the bike path, and then the concrete post of a meadow fence.

The biker is a man born in 1965. Emergency services rushed to the scene and tried to resuscitate the man for a long time, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office was informed, but since no other parties were involved in the accident and there were witnesses, it was decided not to appoint a traffic expert.
