Paddy Joe glynn, fondly known to many as Paddy Joe, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2025, at St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit in Loughrea. His gentle soul is now at rest after a life filled with love and connection.
Paddy Joe, a resident of Calfhill, Peterswell, Gort, County Galway, was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Kathleen, and his siblings Christina, mary Margaret, Eamon, and Mattie. His memory will be cherished by his brother John, the extended Glynn and Fahy families, countless cousins, relatives, neighbours, and many dear friends who will remember him with fondness.
“May His Kind And Gentle Soul Rest In Peace”
His remains will lie in repose at Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall on Church Street (H91 E0C8) on Sunday, January 5th, from 4pm. A removal will take place at 5pm to the Church of St. Thomas in Peterswell. The Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, January 6th, at 1pm, followed by interment in Kilthomas Cemetery.
The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of kindness and support during this difficult time. They would like to express their sincere thanks to all who cared for Paddy Joe during his illness, including the Dialysis team at Merlin Park, the dedicated patient transfer team (Ray, Eamon, Richie, and colleagues), and especially nurse Lisa reddington at the Diabetic Clinic, whose kindness always brought a smile to Paddy Joe’s face.
Heartfelt recognition is also expressed to the wonderful carers who made it possible for Paddy Joe to remain at home as he wished, and to the exceptional staff at St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit who provided compassionate care and made his final days feel like a home away from home.
