Death in Carinthia: Girl (12) collapsed during hike

According to police, it was a medical emergency. The shocking death occurred in the gorge in Mühldorf, which is popular with tourists. Initial suspicions pointed to heat stroke, but these have not been officially confirmed. Despite immediate rescue measures and the girl being transported to hospital by helicopter, her life could not be saved. Out of respect for the family, no further details have been released.

The Barbarossa Gorge, which offers a well-maintained circular hiking trail, is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Upper Carinthia.
