Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins remains free on the market. The former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver has visited the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots but has not yet signed with his new team.
Hopkins used social media and, despite not knowing for sure who his next teammates will be, assured that he will
“I promise you that your job will get easier,” said Hopkins, in a post on Twitter, on Tuesday.
In case of a deal with the Patriots, the message was directed to players like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Devante Parker and Kendrick Bourne. If Hopkins’ destination is the Titans, Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will be the beneficiaries of the receiver’s eventual arrival.
When he was dismissed by the Cardinals, many teams were expected to express interest in having one of the best wide receivers in the league. However, as of Tuesday, weeks before the start of training camp, only two franchises seem willing to sign the player.
Hopkins had stated earlier this month that he was in no hurry to define his future. It seems that the receiver is still waiting for a few more invitations before making a decision. It is possible that until the beginning of training camp, the market will show other alternatives.
For now, Titans and Patriots seem to be ahead in the race for the five-time Pro Bowl selection and the leader in receiving yards in 2017.
