Several carriages of a passenger train derailed in Balasore, in the eastern state of Odisha, some 200 kilometers from the regional capital Bhubaneswar, following a collision with a freight convoy.
About 60 ambulances and rescue teams have been deployed to the crash site, a state official said. Some media put forward the figure of 200 passengers stuck in the carcass of the train.
