**[Intro Music]**

**Host:** Welcome back to Archyde News. today, we’re focusing on the devastating storms that swept through the Southern United States, leaving a trail of destruction and heartbreak. Joining me is Lorna Adams, a resident of Tampa, Florida, who rode out the storm and is thankfully safe. Lorna, thank you for taking the time to speak with us amidst such a challenging time.

**Lorna adams:** You’re welcome. It’s important for peopel to know what we’re going through.

**Host:** Can you tell us a little about what it was like when the storm hit Tampa?

**Lorna Adams:** It was truly terrifying. The wind was howling, and the rain was coming down in sheets. We lost power almost immediately, and then the sirens started blaring. It was like something out of a movie. We huddled in the bathroom, which is our designated safe room, and just prayed we would be okay.

**Host:** How long did the storm last?

**Lorna Adams:** It felt like an eternity, but I think it was probably about two hours of really intense winds and rain. After that, it gradually subsided, but the damage was already done.

**Host:** What kind of damage are you seeing in your neighborhood?

**Lorna adams:** It’s heartbreaking. There are downed trees everywhere, roofs ripped off homes, and some houses are completely destroyed. Our neighbors across the street had a massive oak tree fall on their house, thankfully they were away during the storm.

**Host:** What are you hearing from authorities about the recovery efforts?

**Lorna Adams:** They’re working tirelessly to clear debris and assess the damage. I know they’re also setting up shelters and providing aid to those who lost their homes. There’s a real sense of community here, with people helping each other out wherever they can.

**Host:** What message would you like to send to those who have been affected by these terrible storms?

**Lorna Adams:** My heart goes out to everyone who lost loved ones or their homes in this storm. Stay strong, know that you’re not alone, and we will get through this together.

**Host:** Thank you so much for sharing your story with us, Lorna. Your strength and resilience are truly inspiring.

**Lorna Adams:** Thank you for having me.
