The shooting in Zwolle in which one person was killed last night is probably the result of a long-running conflict. The suspect and the victim appear to be known to each other, the police said.
The shooting happened on Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. in a parking lot at a supermarket in Zwolle. A 44-year-old Zwolle resident was killed.
Later in the day, the police arrested a 42-year-old man from Zwolle in the vicinity of the supermarket. According to police, the victim and suspect knew each other.
“The incident is said to be based on a long-term conflict,” a police spokesperson said. The investigation into the circumstances is in full swing.
Several people in the parking lot and in the supermarket saw the shooting. The police say that local police officers are present and that victim assistance has been called in. Witnesses can contact the police or victim support.
The police would like to get in touch with witnesses who have tips, images or additional information.
