Baku: 25 people were killed in an attack carried out by the Azerbaijani army in the disputed region of Karabakh. The figure was released by the Armenian human rights official.
Two of the dead are civilians. 138 people including 29 civilians have been injured. The casualties followed Azerbaijan’s move to send troops backed by artillery into Armenian-controlled Nagorno-Karabakh.
Karabakh is considered internationally as a province of Azerbaijan. But part of it is controlled by separatist ethnic Armenians. In this situation, there is concern that the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia will intensify.

Armenia alleges that since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Azerbaijani forces have captured more than 60 military posts and destroyed 20 military vehicles.
