Dead Space Remake hasn’t announced a release window yet, but we got to see some footage of it. Indeed, a few weeks ago, the developers of EA Motive showed the early game development footage. However, the sound of some weapons did not appeal to fans. The studio decided to listen to them …
More than just a remake
Rather than “just” remastering the original 2008 game, Motive made the decision to rework the game from scratch. We know for example that the dismemberments will be reworked to be even more impressive. the original scenario from Dead Space will be integrated and modified to expand the story of Isaac Clarke. In addition, the weightless levels from episodes 2 and 3 will also be integrated to this remake, the studio will build phases of the story of this remake around. Fans of the franchise have generally enjoyed these announcements for the remake.

However, fans had been less excited by the first images shown in development. Indeed, the Plasma Cutter and the Assault Weapon had challenged the players, because of a sound design which seemed to them to have failed. Rare enough to be noticed, the studio immediately took into account player feedback. Indeed, as they explain in the tweet above, the developers of Motive have decided to modify the sounds of these two weapons to make them closer to those of the original game. You can also listen to the before/following of these modifications in the video attached to the tweet.
Dead Space Remake will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, at an unknown date.
