a couple of days ago, SHE launched a new Audio Developer Livestream for Dead Space Remake. That live broadcast featured a new Gameplay with a new graphics engine for this long-awaited game.

In anticipation of the next release, the YouTuber Cycu1 has compiled images of the Dead Space original and the footage we’ve seen of the reboot’s development.

In this video, we can see a comparison between two weapons.

These footage compares the newly improved audio samples and weapon animations. Then, at 2:31, we can see a better comparison between identical scenes.

As we can see, the remake will have a darker style than the original game, this is mainly due to the new lighting system that it will use, which is also using a graphic engine. Frostbite.

While the development footage loudly and proudly states that it is “not representative of the final release”, this is all we have to do for now.

In the video, we can see that the team has implemented a much higher and smoother frame rate, more in line with modern game releases.

Lighting is also much more dynamic, with better visual clarity through non-solid substances like fog or steam, animations have also been revamped and now look much more natural.

As this early development footage already looks vastly improved compared to the original, it’s exciting to see what the team comes up with.

Before closing, we have to remind you that the gameplay of Dead Space Remake it’s WIP. After all, this remake will be out in early 2023. So it doesn’t reflect the quality of the final version.
