Dead identified from Lake Zurich

Last week, the Zurich city police recovered a body from Lake Zurich. In the meantime, the identity of the deceased has been clarified.

Shortly after six o’clock on Tuesday last week, the Zurich city police were informed that a body was floating in the water near the Quai Bridge in District 1. Members of the water police then moved out and rescued the lifeless person from Lake Zurich, as the Zurich city police wrote in a statement.

The identity and cause of death were initially unclear. The detectives from the Zurich City Police, the Institute for Forensic Medicine and the Zurich Public Prosecutor’s Office began investigations. The dead man has now been identified. According to the city police, the man is a 61-year-old Swiss without a permanent residence in Switzerland. A crime is not the priority. (obf/noo)
