Game news Dead Island 2: the zombie game finally resurfaces, images and a leaked date

One of the very big Arlésiennes of video games might soon come to an end: Dead Island 2 has just pointed the tip of its nose on Amazon with an image and valuable information. And before time, obviously.
Back to the tropics
This time might just be the right one. Dead Island 2 was announced for the very first time at E3 2014, developers at Yager Development having laid a sensational trailer considered among the best trailers of the video game. At the time, the game was planned for 2015 before seeing its design entrusted to Sumo Digital in 2016. Then, we were treated to almost total silence for years, before the project emerged once more in 2019: the publisher told us that the gestation was now going to Dambuster Studios.
A complicated path but which might well bear fruit since today, Amazon has obviously just made a nice mistake: the game sheet has been published and with it, a release date. Unless the dealer is mistaken (which cannot be ruled out), Dead Island 2 would therefore be released on February 3, 2023. A PS4 cover and a €69.99 Day One Edition are also displayed, which seems to confirm that the PlayStation 4/Xbox One generation will not be forgotten.
“First” images
Damn generous, this leak also allows us to get our hands on first screenshots of Dead Island 2. Bon, we obviously had the opportunity to see the game in 2014 when it was under the thumb of Yager Development, but it’s a safe bet that the title has particularly changed since then.
We will therefore find the initial concept of the soft : venturing into sunny Los Angeles (where the first planted its context on a tropical island, hence its title by the way) but overrun with frankly aggressive undead. We will once more be able to arm ourselves with everything and anything to defend ourselves, all in a summery and warm tone, even second degree as the jacket indicates.

- 6 playable characters, each with their own personality and dialogue.
- Fully customizable abilities with an all-new skill tree to re-spec whenever you want
- The genre is defined as first-person action-RPG
- A dozen different zombie species
Finally, the PS5 and Xbox covers are also known, in addition to that of the PS4.
Maybe gamescom 2022 (which will start on August 24) will allow us to see more clearly.
