We were no longer expecting it. Since its announcement in 2014, almost ten years ago, Dead Island 2 has been postponed many times, and fans of the series were still waiting on the first opus, keeping the hope that one day the sequel might finally land. on the screens. And that was the case yesterday, since Dead Island 2 arrived on our shelves, a real relief for all the zombie hunters who now roam the streets of “Hell-A” in search of creatures to eliminate. On the other hand, if there is indeed a place in which we personally had the opportunity to hunt zombies, it was at the Paris Yacht Marina, during the launch party of the title on April 20th.
Indeed, the press was invited to spend an evening on the theme of the game, and everything was organized so that we can believe it. From the sets to the exhibition of collectors’ editions of the title, including the presence of actors dressed up as zombies, the evening did indeed manage to immerse us in the universe of Dead Island 2all in the most appreciable setting of the port of Grenelle, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower.
After being tattooed in the colors of the new title, we were able to lay our hands on it for a while in order to discover what this bloody component had to offer us. Even if we won’t come to rewrite our review of the game here, we must still emphasize the realism thanks to which Dead Island 2 manages to stand out from the first opus.
Everything is thought out so that the player can feel in real conditions. The game sometimes requires a little thought and special attention to the elements of the decor, because everything that can be found around the player is good to take, even essential to continue the quest. It is by displaying an ever more gory dimension that the game and the fights become extremely interesting, fights that we also found a little slow during the launch party.
But overall, the game is very good, and the opinion was shared by the majority of the guests with whom we were able to discuss the title. Indeed, this kind of event not only makes it possible to promote the game concerned by decorations put in the colors of the title in question, but it brings together the press at the same time in order to discuss the game and the jv sphere the time of ‘an evening.
