Returning from beyond the grave, Dead Island 2 is once again being talked about a few days after a massive leak of information concerning its release. According to this leak, the Dambuster Studios game could well present itself at Gamescom in a few days.
Dead Island 2, the undead game
Will come out, won’t come out? It’s a bit the question that everyone asks when we are interested in Dead Island 2. The first presentation of the game dates back to E3 2014, when Sony unveiled the very first trailer for the game.
Announced for 2015, the title passed in the hands of Techland and Yager is finally postponed to 2016 before Deep Silver decides to separate from the studio. Afterwards, Sumo Digital then succeeds Yager, to finally leave his place to Dambuster Studios. Meanwhile, Deep Silver is being bought out by Embracer Group! With such a chaotic development, no need to look far to understand why the title takes so long to show the end of its nose.
Now that everyone is in place, the project is much more concrete than before. Embracer and Deep Silver had also shared a first release window at the start of the year, announcing the game for early 2023. Things were finally clearing up. Then, it will have been necessary to wait for this month of August to have new additional information. A massive leak caused by Amazon which shared the first visuals of this new version, with the platforms and above all, a first release date.
After these leaks, things may well be accelerating for Dead Island 2. According to the latest rumors, the game should be presented in detail at Gamescom, in just a few days.
