On September 3, the Dijon Vélotour 2023 will start from the La Chartreuse Hospital Center (CHLC), welcomes the establishment in a press release (below). The opportunity to push the walls of the hospital and help destigmatize mental disorders.
The Vélotour, an emblematic event created in Dijon Vélotour in 2006, has since developed in several cities in France, bringing together thousands of participants eager to live a unique cycling experience. This event combining sport and conviviality offers an original route each year, offering cycle tourists the opportunity to discover emblematic places in the city, usually not easily accessible by bike. The Vélotour also invites all participants to give free rein to their creativity and good humor by dressing up happily for this unusual ride. The event is accessible to all and offers a main loop of 13km and two optional loops of 7km and 3km.
An unmissable event for heritage lovers
The CH La Chartreuse is honored to be the point of departure and arrival of this exceptional cycling adventure, which will be punctuated in particular by the discovery of our hospital heritage, intimately linked to the history of the Dukes of Burgundy. Formerly a monastery of the Chartreux monks, the CHLC houses the chapel of the Charterhouse of Champmol and the magnificent Well of Moses, a work by the medieval sculptor Claus Sluter, a jewel of our hospital heritage. As they walk through the facilities of CH La Chartreuse, participants may see the Cirque Lili marquee (Compagnie Jérôme Thomas) which is located in the heart of the establishment, or even the Hostellerie, Center d’Art Singulier piloted by the Association Singular Routes. There is no doubt that this experience will arouse the desire to return to further explore these exceptional places. THE 15 hectares of green spaces that surround the CH La Chartreuse will also offer participants a green break at the heart of their urban stroll.
A unique opportunity to promote mental health
CH La Chartreuse’s participation in Dijon 2023 reflects the CHLC’s commitment to open the establishment to the city, promoting sports and cultural initiatives. Beyond the fun aspect of the event, the establishment is proud to help de-stigmatize psychiatry and promote mental health to a wide audience. The Vélotour offers a unique opportunity to share moments of conviviality and encounter with the participants, while highlighting the mission of the establishment. In a spirit of solidarity and sharing, professionals from CH La Chartreuse will take part in the Dijon Vélotour 2023, accompanied by patients. They will thus bear witness to the spirit of inclusion and openness that drives the CHLC in favor of the mental health and well-being of all. The CH La Chartreuse warmly thanks the organizers of the Dijon Vélotour for once once more placing their trust in the establishment. This participation is made possible thanks to the involvement of a team of professionals and volunteers who work to ensure the smooth running of this day and the safety of all.
