Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung explained that de facto the Golkar Party is now held by the deputy general chairmen.
“So de facto the Golkar party is managed by the deputy general chairmen according to their respective duties,” Doli emphasized at the Golkar DPP Office, Jakarta, today.
“We have eleven deputy general chairmen, of course these 11 deputy general chairmen will be appointed through a plenary meeting as acting general chairmen of the Golkar party,” he said.
But de jure, Doli explained that Airlangga Hartarto is still attached to the position of general chairman. Airlangga’s resignation will be legitimized by a plenary meeting.
“Well, so if asked from this morning until the plenary meeting, who is responsible for this organization? We have divided the tasks that the leadership in the Golkar party is collective collegial, if the general chairman is absent then his duties are taken over by the deputy general chairman,” he said.
“I emphasize to all Golkar party cadres, God willing, the wheels of the Golkar party organization will continue to run,” said Doli.
Meanwhile, Airlangga officially resigned from the Golkar Party general chairman since Saturday night, August 10, 2024. The decision was taken after careful consideration and to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party. (Ykb/P-2)
