The start of the match was delayed by an hour due to rain.

KKR’s three wickets fell in the powerplay

For KKR, England batsman Roy tried to give the team a quick start by hitting Mukesh Kumar for two fours in the second over. But on the last ball of this over, KKR lost the first wicket in the form of Liton Das (four). In-form Venkatesh Iyer might not even open the account and became the victim of Enrich Norkia in the fourth over. KKR’s score was two for 25 in the fourth wicket. Captain Nitish Rana was sent to the pavilion by Ishant Sharma in the sixth over.

The pressure mounted on KKR following losing three wickets in the powerplay but Roy continued to admonish the loose balls from the other end. Mandeep became the victim of Akshar Patel following scoring 12 runs. ‘Wonder Boy’ Rinku Singh came to the crease and showed his attitude by hitting Akshar for four. In the 10th over, Kuldeep Yadav was welcomed by Roy with a six. Russell’s hat-trick six in the last over

Jason Roy scored the maximum 43 runs for KKR, whose innings was ended by Kuldeep Yadav in the 15th over. Kuldeep lbw out Anukul Roy (0) on the very next ball though missed out on the hat-trick. In the next over, KKR captain Rana took the ball himself and dismissed Marsh (two), who was looking under pressure. Anukul took the wicket of Phil Salt in his next over but runs continued to flow from Warner’s bat at the other end.
