On August 16, football fans will be able to watch the first match of the Ligue 1 season between PSG and Le Havre on DAZN. The sports streaming platform, which recently acquired the majority of broadcasting rights for the French football championship, unveiled its two subscription plans this Thursday: the first at 29.99 euros per month and the second at 14.99 euros per month.

With the first offer “DAZN Unlimited”, at 29.99 euros, subscribers will have access to all eight matches of the day acquired by the platform. The last match will be broadcast on a delayed basis. Other competitions will also be accessible with this subscription: the Women’s Champions League, the Elite season in basketball or even the MMA fights of the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and kickboxing. This rate will only be valid in the case of a one-year commitment.

Ten Exclusively Released Posters Revealed

The second, less advantageous, “Super Sports” offer will give the possibility of following only one L1 match per day, selected from those of Sunday, for 14.99 euros. The offer will also be supplemented by the other sports competitions included in the Unlimited formula. Subscribers will nevertheless have to commit for a year if they wish to take advantage of this rate.

The English platform also announced that it will exclusively broadcast ten major L1 matches: the two “classico” matches between PSG and Marseille, the home and away matches between PSG and Lyon, Lyon and Marseille and Lyon and Saint-Etienne, as well as the PSG-Lille and PSG-Monaco matches.

400 million for the next five seasons

This announcement concludes the interminable saga that had animated French football on the allocation of broadcasting rights for Ligue 1. On August 1, the professional football league had approved the agreement with DAZN at a board meeting, for an average of €400 million per year for the next five seasons. BeIN, for its part, acquired one match per day for €100 million per year.

In addition to the eight matches per matchday, DAZN will also broadcast the Champions Trophy and the play-off matches. BeIN SPORTS, which held part of the rights last season, has been granted the right to broadcast only one match per matchday live and exclusively.
