(CNN Spanish) — The months of June and July are usually a time of the year full of video game events and conferences in which the companies that develop and publish video games announce the news they have for the coming months and years. The E3 fair, held in Los Angeles, has historically been the great event that most companies and studios attended and to which fans from all over the world paid attention.
However, the covid-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of several editions of the fair between 2019 and 2022, and the one in 2023 was finally canceled by the organizers. Already during the pandemic, due to the possibility of streaming their own ads, many companies began to hold their own events or grouped around different celebrations. Something that will be repeated in 2023, in which there are alternatives to E3 such as the Summer Game Fest, increasingly powerful, and other events that have historically taken place in these months such as the Microsoft Xbox conference or the PC Gaming Show.

In addition, it is to be expected that there may be surprises as in previous years when a trailer for the expected ‘Elden Ring’ was shown in 2021 or the remake of ‘The Last of Us’ was announced.
