The organizers of the Karlsruhe demonstration on the “International Day Against Homophobia” are calling for people to take to the streets worldwide for the situation and rights of LGBTIQ+ people. After a rally on the Square of Fundamental Rights, the demonstrators want to march through the city center. After that, the book “Queer Coming Out – Then and Now” will be presented with a reading. The “International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia” (IDAHO) is observed every year on May 17 in more than 130 countries. On this day in 1990, the WHO and the United Nations decided to remove homosexuality from the catalog of diseases.
