Day 2 ends, Pakistan 221 for 5

The second day of the first Test match of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is over in Galle. Pakistan’s Agha Salman and Saud Shakeel stood firm, both opening the third day’s play with 61 and 69 respectively.

Pakistan batsmen Agha Salman and Saud Shakeel completed their half-centuries. Both the batsmen handled Pakistan’s struggling batting line-up.

The match was stopped due to rain, along with which the end of the day was also announced. By the end of the game, the national team had scored 221 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

It should be noted that at one point, half of Pakistan’s team returned to the pavilion on 101 runs.

Abdullah Shafiq 19, Imamul Haque 1, Shan Masood 39, captain Babar Azam 13 and wicketkeeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 17 runs.

First day

Sri Lanka scored 226 runs for the loss of 5 wickets till the lunch break in the Galle Test match once morest Pakistan.

Sri Lanka scored a total of 242 runs for the loss of 5 wickets on the first day while the game was also stopped due to rain.

Pakistan’s first three wickets were taken by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who returned to Test cricket following a year, while Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed dismissed one player each.

The second match of the two-match Test series will begin on July 24 in Colombo.
