THE stars of the phenomenal Thai horror-comedy film, Pee Mak, arrived in Indonesia this Friday morning (2/8) and were greeted with great enthusiasm by hundreds of fans at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Mario Maurer, Davika Hoorne, and director Banjong Pisanthanakun looked happy to see the warm welcome from their fans.
Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, who play a married couple in the film, waved to fans packed at the airport. They received flower necklaces as a sign of a traditional Indonesian welcome.
“Today I feel very happy and excited because I can come to Indonesia with Davika and Banjong. Previously we promoted the film Pee Mak, now we promote the remake, Kang Mak. So I’m very happy,” said Mario Maurer in a press release received by Media Indonesia, Friday, (2/8).
Davika Hoorne added that she was very impressed with the friendliness of fans in Indonesia. Her arrival in Indonesia was to support the promotion of the film adaptation of Pee Mak, Kang Mang produced by Falcon Pictures.
“Returning to Indonesia is like a new thing again. We want to fully support Kang Mak’s film,” said Davika.
Banjong Pisanthanakun, the director of the film, also did not miss showing his gratitude to the fans. “I am very touched to see how much Pee Mak is accepted here. This is a very meaningful moment for us,” he said.
The film Pee Mak has become one of the most successful horror-comedy films in Thailand, and its popularity has spread to Indonesia. The presence of these film stars is expected to bring them closer to fans in Indonesia and increase enthusiasm for the film.
