Canadian left-back Alfonso Davies returned to training for Bayern Munich, the leaders of the German Football League, on Sunday, two months following he was diagnosed with a simple infection of the heart muscle.
Bayern Munich explained that Davies, 21, did some jogging on the training ground and that his training would be closely monitored.
Davis has not participated in any matches since last December, following he was infected with the Corona virus, before he was diagnosed with inflammation of the heart muscle.
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann said following his team’s 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim on Saturday that Davies will be gradually pushed into the team over the next three to four weeks.
On the other hand, midfielder Leon Goretzka is expected to return to training this week, having not played this year due to a knee injury.
