Sachin Tendulkar’s record was actually broken; Warner is the owner of that record!
David Warner now holds the record for most centuries as an opener in international cricket. The player acquired this record when he scored a century in the second ODI between South Africa and Australia. Warner has broken the record of cricket god Sachin Tendulkar.
Warner scored 46 centuries in different formats as an opener. Warner, who scored his 20th ODI century, has 25 Tests and one century in T20Is as an opener.
Sachin Tendulkar, who has 100 centuries in international cricket, has crossed 100 times as an opener 45 times.

Warner scored 106 runs off 93 balls with 12 fours and six three sixes. Warner had put on a 109-run partnership with Travis Head in the opener and a 151-run partnership with Marnes Labuschagne for three wickets.
The Aussies are currently 356/5 in 44.3 overs. Labuschagne with 123 runs and Alex Carey at the crease.
Warner has also managed to score 6000 career runs as an opener in ODIs through the competition. Warner is only the second Australian batsman following Adam Gilchrist to score 6000 runs as an opener.
