Until the end of November 2023, photographer David Templier is exhibiting his works at the Espaces atypicals agency in Orléans. An ode to the fragility of nature and human beings associated with a series on breastfeeding, the subject of his next work.

The Fragiles series under the eye of an expert photographer and friend, Patrice Delatouche – Photo JLB « This evening, for the opening of my “Fragile” and “Milky Ways” series, we will honor women », explained this Thursday, October 19 on his page Facebook David Templar. And, without a doubt, there were many women to respond to this tribute paid by the Orléans photographer, whether they were friends of the author, whether they had posed for him for one of the two series, or whether they are members of the team Atypical spaces who, around their director, Claire Chaline, hosted this exhibition. Mélanie, one of those present, was quick to testify a few hours later on this same page: “ Really splendid and congratulations on the books, they are magnificent!!! Congratulations to all the participants, it was a very natural beauty, I really liked it “. An ode to nature
Visitors might be surprised because there is one constant in these two series, nudity. Not erotic or provocative nudity, but essentially natural nudity, intended to remind us that nature and human beings are one, and are as fragile as each other. “ For the Fragiles series, I had many more candidates than male candidates, and the latter were much less quick to undress, or even more shy in their poses. », explains the author, who had to choose some 300 photos from the 15,000 taken, just as he received more than 1,000 applications.
This project was carried out largely in the Orléans region, and practically all the photos taken with a drone, “ but most of the time I was no more than three meters from the person “. The completion of this project lasted nearly 15 months, for a work published in 1,000 copies, which is now out of print. “ This concerns me. Should I plan a reissue? Or a continuation, in other regions, perhaps the poles. But here, funding is needed, and guarantees that the group that leaves operates well “. Natural fragility But beyond these technical data, it is above all the symbolism of the images and the message transmitted which must remain in memory, very well expressed in accompaniment to the work by Albane Templar : « David has photographed nature all his life. From the beaches of Berck to the glaciers of Greenland. But to illustrate the threat that man poses to the environment, he chose to expose humans in the heart of nature, with equal vulnerability. Deprived of his shell, humans have no other refuge than the earth on which they live. It then seems so small and fragile and nature so big and powerful “. The second series presented in this exhibition follows the same path, showing the innate naturalness of the human being, often denied in the name of “civilization”. Starting with birth, and what follows, breastfeeding, the first nourishment given to the human being in the making. Here once more, as shown by the few images presented, from the book Milky Ways, to be published next November, natural nudity is omnipresent and relevant. “ Let’s not forget that we are in National Breastfeeding Week. It is a natural act, which must not be denigrated, prevented, as we sometimes see, in public or private places “. The first images of the work were presented at the Orléans University Hospital on Tuesday October 17, before the exhibition at Espaces atypicals.
The vast majority of women present this Thursday evening at the opening, among whom we recognized Nathalie Kerrien, approved the message, even if, often for professional reasons, they would not have gone so far as to pose in front of the photographer’s lens. But the support was there, and the message transmitted was important, absolutely not atypical.
