news agency CNN reported that Mr. David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament Died in a hospital in Italy On Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, he was 65, following he underwent treatment for severe complications caused by an immune deficiency on Dec. 26 last year.
Mr Sassoli spokesman Roberto Cuillo revealed via a message on Twitter that “President David Sassoli He passed away at 1:15 a.m. on January 11 at CRO Hospital in Aviao. Province of Pordenone, Italy, where he is being treated.”
Since 2019, Mr Sassol has been the chairman of the European Parliament, made up of 705 members of the European Union, since 2019. Most of the presidency is ceremonial only. And his term of office will expire in January 2022, and there is no news that he is considering running for a second term.
Mr Sassoli used to be a journalist. And became famous following working for radio station RAI until in 2009 he joined the Democratic Party. He’s a center-left politician. and won the election as the President of the European Parliament
