David Neil Morem, 67, a cherished resident of Maple Grove, MN, and Bonita Springs, FL, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at his beloved Florida home, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

David was born on June 28th, 1957, in the quaint town of Le Sueur, Minnesota, to his devoted parents, Neil and Joan Morem. He received his education in the schools of Wayzata and Le Sueur, culminating in his graduation from Le Sueur High School. He continued his academic journey, earning a bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Minnesota and later acquiring his MBA from the renowned University of St. Thomas. On June 28th, 1980, he married the love of his life, Debra, cementing a partnership built on mutual respect, admiration, and deep affection. David had a fruitful and impactful career in the banking and finance sector that spanned over four decades, culminating in his retirement in 2019 from ACI Worldwide, where he served with distinction as their Chief Risk Officer.

David’s passions included being an avid golfer and a dedicated boater and fisherman, alongside his zeal for travel to new destinations. Most importantly, he treasured the moments spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories. He was a man of peace, actively engaged in charitable causes, and embodied kindness wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

David was preceded in death by his father Neil, whose memory will forever be cherished. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Debra, their children Andrew (Emalee) and Katelyn (Daniel), as well as his mother, Joan. He also leaves behind his siblings Phil (Deb), Sally, Judith (Eric, decd), Jon (Deb), and Kurt (Jeannie), along with his beautiful grandchildren Elia, Adeline, Zachary, Everett, and Maya. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, an aunt, an uncle, cousins, and countless cherished friends who will always hold him close in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life Gathering, dedicated to honoring David’s memory, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 23rd, at Plymouth Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, MN. Arrangements for this heartfelt farewell are being handled by Hodges Funeral Home in Naples and Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel in Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, a cause close to David and Debra’s hearts, reflecting their enduring commitment to supporting families affected by this challenging illness. ()

He ‍was‍ also very intelligent, ‌and he loved to share his knowledge⁣ without ever being condescending.

**Friend:** His education was​ key to his success. David always believed in lifelong learning. From his‌ bachelor’s at ⁤the University of Minnesota to his MBA at the University of St. Thomas, he used that knowledge to excel in his ‌career while also mentoring many ⁤others. He had an inquisitive⁤ mind and a desire to improve himself and those around him.

**Interviewer:** David’s⁤ marriage to Debra was a ⁣significant part of his life. Can you tell⁤ us what⁤ you observed about⁣ their relationship?

**Friend:** Their relationship was ⁤truly ‌inspiring. They married⁢ on his birthday, which was fitting because they shared‌ a special‌ bond. It ⁢was evident that David⁤ and Debra supported⁣ each other in every‍ endeavor, celebrating each other’s successes and comforting one another during tough times. Their love was a beautiful partnership built on respect and shared values.

**Friend:** Both places held special memories for him. Maple Grove was home, filled with lifelong friends‍ and deep roots.‍ Bonita Springs offered him the warmth he loved, especially ⁢in his later years. He found peace there, enjoying the sunshine and the sea, but no matter where he was, he always carried the spirit of Minnesota in his heart.
