After Patrice Bergeron, the Boston Bruins would soon lose another veteran center: David Krejci.
The Czech is on the verge of announcing his retirement from professional hockey, according to Boston Hockey Now. The 37-year-old athlete might return to HC Olomouc, in his country’s elite league, to play in the 2023-2024 season, but would prefer to hang up his gloves.

At the end of last season, Krejci said it was the National Hockey League (NHL) or nothing, and that he wouldn’t play for anyone other than the Bruins.
Journalist Jimmy Murphy nevertheless clarified that the striker might still participate in the 2024 World Championship with the Czech Republic.
In the NHL, Krejci wore the Bruins uniform from 2007 to 2021 and in 2022-2023. He amassed 786 points in 1,032 games, including 56 points in 70 games last season. He won the Stanley Cup in 2011, being his team’s leading scorer in those playoffs.
In 2021-2022, he had played a season in Olomouc in order to be closer to his family. Free agent the following summer, he had agreed for a season with Boston, for a salary of $1 million.
