London: Former British Prime Minister David Cameron is back in power. Cameron was appointed as Britain’s new foreign minister. Cameron’s appointment follows the transfer of current Foreign Secretary James Cleverley to the Home Department.
David Cameron was the Prime Minister of Britain from 2010 to 2016. Cameron’s resignation came after the defeat of the Brexit referendum. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s assessment is that Cameron’s experience in the international arena will be beneficial for Britain.
James Cleverley was also appointed as Britain’s new Home Secretary. Cleverley’s appointment follows the sacking of Suella Braverman, the then Home Secretary. James Cleverley was currently serving as Foreign Minister in Rishi Sunak’s cabinet.
Indian-origin Suella Braverman was fired last week for her comments about police handling of a pro-Palestinian march. Braverman had criticized the Metropolitan Police for taking a soft approach towards some extremist elements at pro-Palestinian rallies.
