Defender of the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, David Aebischer will play in Lugano from next season. The Fribourgeois (23 years old) signed a 5-year contract with the Ticino club.
The Singinois is playing his third year under the colors of the Lakers. Aligned in power play, the defender has 8 points in 10 games, the 2nd best total for his team. He notably wore the Top-Scorer jersey several times this season.
Coming from the Fribourg-Gottéron junior movement, David Aebischer spent 2 seasons with the Gatineau Olympic team in the QMJHL. On his return, he played a season with Ajoie and celebrated promotion to the National League with the Jurassiens.
Aebischer was called up to the Swiss team last season for the Euro Hockey Tour and the preparation matches for the world championship (7 selections).
